COLUMBUS — United Producers Inc. has launched Coordinated Feeder Services, a program that will allow farmers in the Midwest to market their feeder cattle to feedlots and other interested buyers.
Through Coordinated Feed Services, United Producers Inc. will obtain feeder cattle from United Producers Inc. members and market them through contacts in Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, Ohio, Kansas, Iowa, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Texas and Colorado.
Coordinated Feed Services will also coordinate cattle purchases for members who need to buy cattle.
Farmers selling cattle will benefit from more opportunities to market cattle to a broader geographic region. Farmers purchasing cattle through Coordinated Feed Services will benefit from a more attractive market, with a more diverse volume of cattle to choose from.
The Paris, Ky., United Producers, Inc. facility will serve as a new hub for Coordinated Feed Services. In addition to its role as a Coordinated Feed Services hub, the facility will serve as a weekly collection point for cattle for local members and will host monthly special feeder calf auctions and regular Certified Pre-conditioned for Health sales.
