The Medina County Fair grand champion dairy steer, weighing 1,685 pounds, was shown by Breanna Clifford, assisted by Kaitlyn Clifford and purchased by Bill Hange of Farmer’s Savings Bank for $2.90 per pound.
The Medina County Fair grand champion dairy goat, weighing 70 pounds, was shown by Ellie Kaufman, assisted by Ian Kaufman, and purchased by Pfister Orthodontics, represented by Tim Dull, for $10 per pound.
The Medina County Fair grand champion starter calf, weighing 375 pounds, was shown by Morgan Marchinko, and purchased by Shaw Trucking and Excavating LLC, represented by Rachael Shaw for $5.75 per pound.
The Medina County Fair grand champion market hog, weighing 271 pounds, was shown by Allison Loftis, and purchased by Brad Bauman of Bauman Oil for $10 per pound. Loftis was also the premier hog showman.
The Medina County Fair grand champion market lamb, weighing 137 pounds, was shown by Whitney Smith, assisted by Lydia Winkler, and purchased by Bill and Judy Foster of Foster Farms, for $11 per pound.
The Medina County Fair grand champion market steer, weighing 1,335 pounds, was shown by Shelby Moucha, and purchased by Don Simmons of Simmons Construction, for $5.20 per pound. Moucha has shown the grand champion steer three years in a row.
The Medina County Fair grand champion meat goat, weighing 78 pounds, was shown by Nicholas Englehart, assisted by Brooke and Brianna Englehart, and purchased by Mellion Orthodontics, represented Lois Hollopeter, for $13 per pound.
Trevar Dahl milks the family goat Tianna at the Medina County fair. Although he is no longer in 4-H he still enjoys coming back to show in the open show and support his younger sister.
Through years of fundraising, the Medina County 4-H Junior Leadership club was able to unveil its new milkshake booth at the Medina County Fair this year. There was always a line waiting to get a milkshake and try out the unique flavors like jamocha peanut butter and cherry banana.

A local Medina County family stopped to pose for a picture while checking out the farm equipment at the Medina County Fair, Aug. 6. The Knapp, Naftzger and Snyder siblings and cousins were planning to watch family members pull in the tractor pulls later that day.
