It’s that time of year again: the time that we acknowledge all of the things we’re thankful for.
To do that this year, we took a cue from the folks at the AgChat Foundation, which was built from weekly agriculture discussions on Twitter. The foundation’s purpose is to equip farmers and ranchers with the social media skills to effectively share their story.
Several years ago, the foundation started #FoodThanks, a hashtag used to show appreciation for food and those who provide it.

To show their appreciation, social media savvy eaters or farmers often pin recipes, share photos, and simply say “thanks” on various social media platforms by using the hashtag.
You can join the #foodthanks Twitter chat and Google Hangout, Thursday, Nov. 21 at 8/7 CST.
Farm and Dairy says thanks
#FoodThanks inspired us. To show you all, our readers, how much we appreciate you, we want to help show the world what you’re thankful for. We want to be part of your family on Thanksgiving. To make that happen, we’d love to see pictures of your Thanksgiving Day spread.
Here’s how
If you took a photo of all of that wonderful food on your table, send it to us on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram, by using the hashtag #FDThanks. We’ll then take your photos and put them on our website, below, for all of our readers, and the entire world, to see.
Make sure to let us know who you are and where you’re from. Feel free to also include a few things that you’re thankful for this holiday season.
Step-by-step
- Take your photo.
- Log on to Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.
- Upload your photo
- Write something about your photo. Make sure to include #FDThanks.
- We’ll do the rest.
