The 19th season of ABC’s The Bachelor will feature a popular eliminated candidate from The Bachelorette — more commonly known as “the farmer.”
Hailing from Arlington, Iowa, Chris Soules is turning heads as news of his lead on the show is spreading. Like most farm kids, he learned to drive a tractor before he learned to drive anything else. Soules studied agriculture and agronomy at Iowa State University and continues to work on his family’s farm.
Now, he’s on a quest to find love.
The show
The Bachelor, which originated in 2002, features one eligible male who is presented with a group of 25 women from which he is supposed to choose his wife. Throughout the course of the season, the bachelor takes the women on dates at various locations around the world.
He whittles down the women one by one, or sometimes two at a time, during “rose ceremonies.” During the final episode, the bachelor typically gives one of the two remaining women the final rose, asking her to marry him.
Social media
Soules’ popularity on social media began with his Bachelorette days, especially after he placed third in the tenth season. Now, even more women are swooning over this farmer’s charm, anticipating the season to come.
The show premieres in January 2015, but until then, Soules will continue to be in the spotlight on Twitter, especially as he shares photos as well as excitement with fans about what’s in store on the show.
