Ingredients for Cake:
- 1 ¾ cup flour
- 2 cups sugar
- ¾ cup cocoa
- 2 eggs
- 1 ½ teaspoons baking soda
- 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
- ½ cup vegetable oil
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 1 cup boiling water
Ingredients for Frosting:
- 1 cup butter
- 1 cup peanut butter
- 4 cups powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- ¼ cup milk
Ingredients for Ganache:
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup milk chocolate chips
Directions:
- Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and lightly flour 3-8 inch pans.
- Stir together sugar, flour, cocoa, baking soda, baking powder and salt.
- Add eggs, milk, oil and vanilla. Beat for two minutes and add boiling water.
- Pour into pans. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until done.
- For Frosting, cream peanut butter and butter. Add remaining fosting ingredients and beat until smooth. Spread between layers of cooled cake.
- For the Ganache, Bring to boil the heavy cream and pour over one cup milk chocolate chips. Melt and pour over chocolate cake.
- Garnish with hand dipped peanut butter truffles.
