Ingredients:
- 4 medium Dutch Beets
- 2 Tbsp. butter
- 1/2 small finely sliced onion
- 2 Tbsp. flour
- 2 Tbsp. cider vinegar
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
Directions:
- Start by boiling the beets until they are tender. This usually takes about 30 to 40 minutes, depending on the size of the beets.
- Once the beets are cooked, remove them from the water and let them cool slightly. Peel the skin off the beets and slice into thin slices.
- In a separate pan, sauté onions until soft and translucent. Sprinkle flour over onions, add the rest of the ingredients to the pan and cook for a few more minutes to combine the flavors. Bring to a boil; cook and stir until thickened, about 2 minutes.
- Stir in the beets; heat through.
