Crock Pot Grits

Ingredients:

  • 2 2/3 cups water
  • 1 1/2 cups uncooked old-fashioned grits
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 4 Tbsp. butter, cubed
  • 2 tsp. chicken bouillon granules
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/3 cup bacon bits

Directions:

  1. Combine the first six ingredients in a greased 3-quart slow cooker. Cook, covered, on low until liquid is absorbed and grits are tender, 2 1/2 to 3 hours, stirring every 45 minutes.
  2. Stir in cheeses until melted. Do a toppings bar with bacon bits, cheese or chives to kick it up.
