Ingredients:
- 4 Tbsp. butter
- 1/3 cup flour
- 3 cups whole milk
- To taste black bepper
- 4 ½ oz. dried beef sliced, rinsed
- For serving Texas toast, toasted
Directions:
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and add butter. When the butter is melted and begins to bubble, add flour and mix to combine. Simmer the roux for 2 to 3 minutes to cook away the raw flour taste.
- Next, add the milk and stir or whisk to combine. Add black pepper and the chipped beef to the white sauce and simmer for 3 to 5 minutes, stirring constantly, until thickened.
- Serve over toasted bread, biscuits or hashbrowns.
