Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 cup flour, sifted
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1 cup shredded coconut, toasted
- 1 cup rolled oats, toasted
Directions:
- Combine shortening, sugars, eggs, salt and vanilla and beat thoroughly. Sift flour and soda together, then add to wet mixture with coconut and oats and mix well. Drop level tablespoons of dough on to greased baking sheets. Bake at 350° for 12-14 minutes. Makes 3 dozen.
