Ingredients:
- 3/4 cup shortening
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/4 molasses
- 1 egg
- 2 tsp baking soda
- 2 cups flour
- 1/2 tsp cloves
- 1/2 tsp ginger
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp salt
Directions:
- Melt shortening, (cool), add sugar, molasses, egg; beat well.
- Sift together flour, soda, cloves, ginger, cinnamon, salt; add to first mixture. Mix well, chill.
- Form into 1″ balls. Roll in sugar and place on greased cookie sheet.
- Bake at 325 degrees for 8-10 mins.
