Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup butter
- 4 cups milk
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp. black pepper
- 3/4 tsp. salt or to taste
- 1 Tbsp. cheddar cheese powder, optional
- 1/2 lb. Velveeta cheese, cubed
Directions:
- In a 3-quart saucepan, melt butter.
- Mix milk, flour and cheddar powder in a blender until smooth.
- Add to butter and bring to a boil on medium heat, stirring constantly until thickened.
- Add salt, pepper and Velveeta; stir until smooth. More milk may be added to achieve desired consistency; reheat, but do not boil.
- Keep warm until serving time.
- Makes 1 1/2-2 quarts.
