Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup soft butter
- 1/2 cup oil
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup confectioners sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 2-1/4 cups flour
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
- additional sugar
Directions:
- Cream butter, oil and sugars. Add egg and vanilla. Combine flour, baking soda, and cream of tartar. Gradually add to butter mixture. Chill for several hours or overnight.
- Preheat oven to 350°. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls two inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
- Flatten with a fork dipped in flour. Sprinkle with sugar, and bake 12 to 15 minutes until lightly browned. Cool on wire racks. Makes 4 dozen.
