ALLIANCE, Ohio — What started as a single retail store in 1972 has grown into a county-wide company that now employs 300 people.

Founded by Terry Tolerton, Terry’s Tire Town has come a long way since that first store opened in Alliance. Today, the Stark County business includes three distribution facilities, two commercial tire and alignment centers, a Bandag retread plant, an in-field farm service fleet and seven retail stores in Stark County.

Those seven retail tire and automotive service centers carry all major brand tires and provide ASE-certified maintenance and repair services.

Terry’s Tire Town is a wholesale distributor of passenger, light truck, commercial, lawn and garden, and agricultural tires. It also deals with aftermarket parts and accessories, custom wheels and automotive equipment.

The company carries Michelin, BFGoodrich, Uniroyal, Cavalier, Bridgestone, Firestone, Dayton, Continental, General, Goodyear, Dunlop, American Radial, Kumho, Pirelli, Yokohama, Nanking, Mastercraft, Fuzion, Nitto, Towmaster, Titan, Galaxy, Primex, Denman and Carlisle.

In 2007, Terry’s Tire Town became a warehousing distributor for Goodyear and Dunlop to round out their complete lineup of major brand and private label offerings.

Owned by president Will Tolerton, the company aims to give customers as many choices as possible for tire selection. The number of tire sizes available, plus the trend toward larger-diameter tires, keeps the inventory diverse.

The family-owned-and-operated business is located at 2360 W. Main St., Alliance, OH 44601. Hours are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to noon Saturday.
