GREENWICH, Ohio — Richland Laminated Columns LLC, a manufacturer of post frame foundation, opened for business in 2004. The company makes laminated columns treated on the lower end and distribute the post hold pads and pest protector.
The columns are stronger, lighter and straighter than solid sawn 6-by-6 wood posts, said Elmer Sensenig, company owner.
The company is located at 8252 state Route 13 in Greenwich, Ohio and distributes in five surrounding states, selling wholesale only, to about 200 lumberyards.
The company employs eight full-time employees and two part-time employees and is open from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Growth
Richland Laminated Columns has added a perma column manufacturing plant since opening. Perma column is a precast concrete column for post frame building. The company also added two new buildings in the last two years and in 2009 added another laminating line.
Sensenig said, “We are always trying to improve service and quality and build relationships with our customers. We already have eight new lumberyards in 2011 that were using 6-by-6 solid sawn and are switching to laminated columns.”
Sensenig said future plans include continuing to do a good job taking care of customers. The company this year won its second National Gold Key award for service, quality and pride.
“We believe in working hard, honesty and having a smile for everyone. It truly works,” said Sensenig.
