JOHNSTON TOWNSHIP, Ohio –Vaughn Clawson Sunbury, 96, of Johnston Township died Sept. 28, 2012, at his home.
He was born March 30, 1916, in Johnston, the son of Thad Law Sunbury and Loucretta Clawson Sunbury.
He had been owner and operator of a portable milling business and was also a dairy farmer and breeder of registered Holstein cattle.
He had been a member and past president of the Trumbull Holstein Association, and was a past member of the Johnston school board, a member of the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation, and the Sod Busters Farm Bureau Council. He was a lifetime member of Johnston Federated United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, the former Ruth Croop, whom he married Feb. 4, 1945; a son, James V., of Johnston, a granddaughter, two great-granddaughters, three nephews and a niece.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Carol Vlk; and a brother, Roger D. Sunbury.
Services were held at the Johnston Federated United Methodist Church Oct. 1, 2012, with burial in Johnston Township Cemetery.
