SALEM, Ohio — A memorial celebration will be held at a later date for Leroy Wayne Clingerman, 80, of Salem who passed away Jan. 20, in Hospice House.
He was born Aug. 6, 1930 in Austintown, the son of Herbert and Seldia (Grier) Clingerman. He was the owner of Clingerman House Movers and Construction Inc. since 1960 and had also worked for Broomall Construction in Salem for 13 years from 1947 until 1960.
He was a lifelong area resident and an army veteran, serving from 1955 to 1956.
He was a nature lover and a long-time member of the Mahoning County Coon Hunter’s Club of Ellsworth. He could always be found working in his garden or spending long hours in the woods.
He leaves behind three sons; Dennis of North Carolina, William of Homeworth, Ohio, and Bruce of Youngstown, one brother; Lester Clingerman of Berlin Center, three step-brothers; Franklin McGown, Melvin McGown and Harry Price, all of Youngstown, as well as seven grandchildren.
Besides his parents, Clingerman was preceded in death by one brother; Chester Clingerman, and two sisters; Viola Watson and Miriam Nations.
There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his honor to Hospice of the Valley 5190 Market St., Youngstown, OH 44512.
