LOUISVILLE, Ohio — Dale “Windy” Buttermore, 84, passed away April 4, 2014 at 11:15 p.m. at McCrea Manor in Alliance, Ohio.

He was the owner of Star Mills in Louisville, Ohio.

Buttermore was born on Dec. 11, 1929 in Alliance to Paul W. and Florence (Lee) Buttermore.
He attended schools in Alliance and Goshen. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in the Korean War and was a lifetime member of the VFW.

Survivors include his daughter, Karen Leonard of Alliance, two grandchildren and a great-grandson.
Buttermore also left a brother, Paul Buttermore, Jr., of Damascus and sisters, Carol Flickinger, of Alliance and Nancy Coman, of Freehold, N.J., and several nieces and nephews.

He was proceeded in death by his parents and siblings, Ann Chapple, June Barnes, Robert Buttermore, Frank Buttermore and Janie Cunningham.

Buttermore dedicated his life to his loving family and to his friends and customers of Star Mills.

He was the backbone of his family and will be missed terribly by not only his loving family but by all his friends in the farming community.

A memorial service was held April 9 at Walton Schrader Funeral Home in Alliance.
