ORANGEVILLE, Ohio — Charles W. Smith, 70, of Orangeville, Ohio, died Oct. 28, 2009, at his home.
He was born Jan. 13, 1939, in Orangeville, the son of Walter A. and Hazel L. (Hayes) Smith.
A lifelong Orangeville resident, Mr. Smith was a 1957 graduate of Vernon High School. He served in the U.S. Army and was employed as a maintenance mechanic for General Electric in Warren for 38 years, retiring in 1995.
He also owned and operated Ramy Swine Farm in Orangeville.
He was a member of the Trumbull County Antique Tractor Club and collected Farmall tractors and antique cars.
He is survived by his wife, June L. (Mesmer) Smith, of Orangeville; his daughter, Amy L. Smith of Vernon Township, Ohio; his son, Randy C. Smith of Orangeville; his three grandsons; and his four brothers, George Smith of North Bloomfield, Ohio, Allen Smith of Orangeville, Roy Smith of Gustavus Township, Ohio, and Robert Smith of Davey, Fla.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
A funeral service was held Oct. 31 at Baumgardner Funeral Home, 8569 Main St., Kinsman, Ohio.
