Carol Jean (Butream) Malmsberry, 82, of Salem, died Sept. 16 at Essex Of Salem #3. She was born Jan. 30, 1930, in Salem to the late James and Thelma (Notman) Butream.
She was a homemaker and lifetime area resident. She was Methodist and had been a volunteer at Salem Community Hospital and with RSVP.
She is survived by her children, Rhonda Lynn Malmsberry-Stewart, of Lisbon, Roger Allen Malmsberry, of Aliquippa, Pa., Kimberly Kay Malmsberry-Barkley, of Spartanburg, S.C., and Todd Jay Malmsberry, of Coconut Creek, Fla.; siblings, Eunice Sidner, of Lisbon, Ihla Rae Donnelly, of Lisbon, Donald Butream, of Lisbon, Dewayne Butream, of Lisbon, and Shannon Butream, of Las Vegas; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Rolland J. Malmsberry, whom she married April 10, 1955, and who died March 31, 1990; a son, Russell James Malmsberry, in 1981, and a brother, Jim Butream.
Services were held Sept. 21 at East Goshen Cemetery.
