NORTH LAWRENCE, Ohio — Carl E. “Sam” Huddleston, 79, died April 23, 2008, at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio.
Born Jan. 3, 1929, in Akron, he was the son of the late Hubert Eugene and Nellie Dolly Botkins Huddleston.
Mr. Huddleston retired from East Ohio Gas Co. in 1987, and was an Army veteran, having served during the Korean Conflict.
He was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church and a 39-year member of the Stark County Fair Board.
He is survived by his wife, Donna L. Brown Huddleston, whom he married June 23, 1956; a son, John Huddleston of Paris, Ohio; daughters JoAnn Sirow of Oyster Bay Cove, N.Y., and Jennifer Huddleston of Navarre, Ohio; a sister, Betty J. Varns of Walnut Creek, Ohio; and five grandchildren.
Friends called April 27 at both Otterbein United Methodist Church and Butler-Varns Funeral Home in Sugarcreek.
The funeral was held April 28 at the church. Burial with military services followed at East Union Lawn Cemetery in Navarre, Ohio.
