Westmoreland County steer is champion

HARRISBURG, Pa. — Colton Zundel of New Alexandria, Westmoreland County, took home grand champion market steer honors with his 1,315-pound middleweight crossbred steer Jan. 8, at the Pennsylvania Farm Show.

Justin Glossner of Beech Creek, Clinton County, was honored with reserve grand champion market steer with a 1,380-pound purebred crossbred heavyweight steer.

Market steer judge Dr. Tom Turner, retired professor of animal science at the Ohio State University, placed more than 60 exhibitors for the show.

Angus. Champion, Grant Fitzgerald, York County; Reserve champion, Regan Sauder, Lancaster County.

Hereford. Champion, Christine Helm, Cumberland County; Reserve champion, Natalie Eberly, Lancaster County.

Other purebred. Champion, Nicholas Yocum, Huntingdon County; Reserve champion, Justin Awckland, Bucks County.

Lightweight crossbred. Champion, Mattie Horchler, Lawrence County; Reserve champion, Toni Marie DeCarlo, Fayette County.

Middleweight crossbred. Champion, Colton Zundel, Westmoreland County; Reserve champion, Justin Glossner, Clinton County.

Light heavyweight crossbred. Champion, R.J. Wolen, Greene County; Reserve champion, Ethan Beegle, Bedford County.

Heavyweight crossbred. Champion, Justin Glossner, York County; Reserve champion, April Wivell, Fayette County.

Overall crossbred. Champion, Colton Zundel, Westmoreland County; Reserve overall champion, Justin Glossner, Clinton County.

Junior market steer. Champion, Colton Zundel, Westmoreland County; Reserve grand champion, Justin Glossner, Clinton County.
