WASHINGTON – The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Grain Inspection, Packers and Stockyards Administration entered into a consent decision with Merlin L. Garver, Inc. and Merlin Jan Garver, Wooster, Ohio March 21.
Livestock purchase
An Administrative Law Judge ordered Merlin L. Garver, Inc. and Merlin Jan Garver to cease and desist from: Agreeing or otherwise arranging to take turns with others in the bidding and buying of livestock at auctions or other livestock markets; and failing to conduct their livestock buying operations independently of and in competition with other dealers, market agencies, or packers.
