The Alliance Middle School archery team, competing under the name the Alliance Arrows, finished 11th in the middle school division at the state tournament last Friday.
Girls division
The top finisher for Alliance was Gravlee, who scored 216 points and earned a 44th-place finish, out of 100 competitors in the girls’ division. She connected for eight bulls-eyes in the competition.
The four other Alliance girls each hit eight 10-point shots.
Boys division
On the boys’ side, Adam Davis took top team honors, with 213 points and seven 10-pointers. He was 93rd in the field of 138 shooters. Malcolm Collins-Sibley hit the most bulls-eyes for Alliance with eight.
Team champions
Maysville MS Archery won the middle school team competition for the second straight year. In the elementary division, Meigs Intermediate was the top team, while Maysville HS Archery took top honors in the high school division.
