Truck and trailer loaded with soybeans stolen in Pennsylvania

A similar Peterbilt sleeper cab truck and a trailer loaded with soybeans was stolen from a western Pennsylvania farm early Aug. 26.

MEADVILLE, Pa. — A 2009 white Peterbilt semi-truck, nearly identical to the one in the photograph above, was stolen from Bortnick Farms, Beaver Township, Crawford County, Pennsylvania early Friday morning, Aug. 26. The truck has a sleeper cab and blue bumper, and was hooked to a 30-foot Trailco dump trailer filled with soybeans. The trailer has a black and white tarp, and a Pennsylvania license plate of XHY1383.

Donald Bortnick Sr. said they discovered the truck and trailer were missing when they went out at 3 a.m. to start the trip to an Ohio elevator. He said the theft occurred some time between 9 p.m. Thursday and 3 a.m. Friday.

Anyone with information about the theft, which has a combined value of $49,000, is asked to contact the Pennsylvania State Police at 814-332-6911. There is a $1,000 reward for information leading to the recovery of the truck and trailer.
