AKRON — Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens is hosting the Stan Hywet Symposium Nov. 13. The theme for this year is Preserving American Legacies.
Workshops at this one-day event focus on how to safeguard the history and care of early 20th century properties like Stan Hywet.
Famous speaker
Featured keynote speaker is Susan Eisenhower, granddaughter of the late President Dwight D. Eisenhower and First Lady Mamie Eisenhower.
She will sign copies of her book, Mrs. Ike: Portrait of a Marriage, prior to the keynote dinner. Workshops go from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and focus on Frank “F.A.” Seiberling, his contemporaries and industries. The workshops also examine the estates and how they are being managed and cared for in the 21st century.
Symposium lectures take place at the Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens in Akron and include tours.
Admission details
Tickets are $120 for the entire day and includes workshops, the book signing, the reception and dinner. The ticket price to attend the book signing, reception and dinner is $100.
