AKRON — Join the Ohio and Erie Canalway Coalition (OECC) for the kick off of our health and wellness program, Healthy Steps April 12 at 11:30 a.m. at Lock 3 (200 S. Main St.) in downtown Akron. Registrants will receive a free lunch and materials to help get them started on their health and wellness goals.
Healthy Steps encourages individuals and families to step their way to a healthier lifestyle. By simply walking 8,733 steps per week, participants will have completed a marathon — 26.2 miles — over a span of six weeks. That’s approximately 52,400 steps.
Healthy Steps encourages participants to exercise, explore and enjoy the natural, historical and recreational resources along the Ohio and Erie Canal Towpath Trail.
