MINERVA, Ohio — Three members of the Minerva FFA participated in the Columbiana County Fair FFA co-op food stand: Lurena Kimble, Bryce Fankhauser, and Kaitelyn Wayts.
Each student will receive a scholarship for working at least eight hours, and can use their scholarship towards the cost of National FFA Convention, an FFA jacket, state convention, or FFA camp.
Chapter members set up a booth at the Stark County Fair to display students’ projects from last year. The students who set up the booth are Matt Mobberley, Lizzi Berstler, Bailey Campbell, Mike Burton, Martin Merrick, Clay Mcknight, Bri Zwick, Bryce Fankhauser, and Clayton Brightbill.
The chapter will be hosting a box city Sept. 19 and is asking multiple clubs from Minerva High School to participate.
Students will be staying outside from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., raising money for St. Paul’s Lutheran Church food drive as well as collecting non-perishable food items. This activity is meant to raise homelessness awareness.
This is the third year the chapter has participated in the event. Last year, students raised $1,100. If any one is interested in donating to this cause call 330-868-4134 ext 1250 or stop by on the day of the event.
