Red and White dairy cattle convention is Aug. 7-9

CRYSTAL SPRING, Pa. — The Mason-Dixon Club encourages all Red enthusiasts to attend the 2008 National Red and White Convention, “New Beginnings.”

Festivities are scheduled for Aug. 7-9 in Hagerstown, Md.

The Aug. 7 activities include a national board meeting followed by a junior activity and meet-and-greet picnic that evening.

Tours

Activities begin at 8 a.m. Aug. 8 with the convention tour of Windsor Manor of the Jason and Donna Myers family, home of Windsor Manor Rubn Ruby-Red; the two locations of Recipient Solutions, Dr. Tom Mercuro, home of Derrwyn Miss Special-Red-ET, and Spungold Farm, Dale and Deanna Bendig, home of Medovue Rub Manjulant-Red.

Each location has played an influential role in Red genetics. The tour will include a bus tour of the Gettysburg battlefield.

Everyone is encouraged to attend the annual meeting and awards banquet beginning at 5:30 p.m. Aug. 8.

Sale

The National Red and White Convention Sale is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. Aug. 9, showcasing 100 lots of elite Red genetics. Matt Lawrence of Volant, Pa., will manage the sale.
