According to The Daily Statesman, “Right to Farm” amendment ballot recounts are underway in Missouri counties.
The amendment passed Aug. 5 with a 499,581 to 497,091 vote. Opponents of the amendment requested a recount.
In Stoddard County, the recount matched the original tally. Each county is conducting its recount independently. The statewide recount will be tallied by mid-September.
The amendment aims to protect the rights of farmers and ranchers, but supporters and opponents of the amendment believe that it will only serve certain groups.
