HARRISBURG, Pa. — The Women in Dairy Conference will be held Nov. 8, from 9 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. at the Sheraton Harrisburg Hershey, 4650 Lindle Road, Harrisburg, Pa.
This women-specific conference, organized by the Penn State Extension Dairy Team, is planned and carried out by women leaders in the industry. It is an opportunity for networking with others involved in dairy and offers workshops and speakers to enlighten and uplift.
A pre-conference reception will be held Nov. 7 from 7-8:30 p.m. and is open to all attendees. There is no cost to attend, and there will be an opportunity for networking and socializing.
Keynote speaker for this year’s event will be Jessica Ziehm, executive director of the New York Animal Agriculture Coalition, a group dedicated to enhancing the public’s awareness and understanding of modern animal agriculture.
She initiated the award-winning Dairy Cow Birthing Center at the New York State Fair, and she grew up on a Jersey farm in New York State and was the spokesperson for the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets for twelve years.
She will present Standing up for what you Stand For. Morning and afternoon breakout sessions are designed to allow participants to choose those topics which are most beneficial.
