GLADYS, Va. — Pennsylvania bison breeder Tupper Sverduk of 191 Livestock Company in Lake Ariel won Producer of the Year at the Eastern Bison Association’s Show and Sale held March 7 and 8 in Harrisburg.
Sverduk sold a bison bull that topped the sale at $5,000. The buyer of this 1,410-pound yearling was Eugene Ripplinger from Mattaponi, Va. This bull was sired by a bull that Tupper raised and sold as the champion bull in the 2002 Eastern Bison Association Show and Sale.
Awards
Among Sverduk’s awards this year were reserve champion bull; first-place yearling bull; first-place 2-year-old bred heifer; first-place pair of aces; and a silver trophy carcass.
