OLD WASHINGTON, Ohio — Sheep and goat producers are invited to a workshop designed to certify sheep and goat producers in FAMACHA and learn more about alternative forages and the layout and design of goat working facilities.

The workshop will be held at 6 p.m. June 30 at the Eastern Agriculture Research Center, Belle Valley.

FAMACHA may help to reduce the development of internal parasites that are resistant to drugs. FAMACHA allows sheep and goat producers to use a colored eye chart to identify animals needing dewormed.

Clif Little, OSU Extension educator, will conduct this training. The cost of the workshop is $20 per farm. Reservations are required and limited to 20 farms. The reservation deadline is June 24.

Send your reservation to OSU Extension, Guernsey County, P.O. Box 300, Old Washington, OH 43768 or call 740-489-5300.
