Ohio Holstein Association announces convention plans

PLEASANT PLAIN, Ohio — The 91st Ohio Holstein Association Convention and Annual Meeting will be held March 11 and 12. The District 15 Holstein club will be hosting the event.

The two-day event will kick off with the Mideast Impact Sale to be held at Mohrfield Holsteins, 10279 state Route 132. A pre-sale meal will be held at the sale location beginning at 11:30 a.m. The Mideast Impact Sale is managed by the District 15 Holstein Club and the sale will begin at 12:30 p.m.

Sale details

The sale will feature outstanding registered Holsteins, both black and white and red and white. For catalogs or information on the consignments selling, contact Curtis Bickel 937-728-0174 or Chad Griffith 513-543-2315. The sale is online at www.mideastimpactsale.com.

The Ohio Holstein Queen Banquet will be held at the Wilmington Elks Lodge No. 797, March 11 at 7 p.m. Guest speaker for the evening will be Melissa Hart, editor of the online dairy magazine, Dairy Agenda Today. Hart also writes columns that appear in Farmers Advance, Farm World and Holstein International.

March 12 activities will begin with the Ohio Holstein Women’s Meeting at 8 a.m. The Ohio Holstein Association Annual Meeting will be held at 9 a.m. and the Ohio Holstein Junior Association Meeting will be held at 9:30 a.m. Officers will be elected during the meetings. The awards luncheon and the Holstein Women’s Fun Auction will be held at noon.

Hotel reservations can be made at the Hampton Inn & Suites, 201 Holiday Drive, Wilmington, Ohio by calling 937-382-4400 or faxing 937-382-4410. Tickets for the Friday night banquet are $15 for adults and $10 for children under 12. Cost of the Saturday noon luncheon is $12 for adults and $8 for children under 12.
