MADISON, Wis. — Stephan Sparkler Vera-ET, the winning entry in the six-year-old and older class, was named grand champion at the Central National Jersey Show held at World Dairy Expo.
She is owned by Joel and Greg Bourne of Ansonia, Ohio, and received the Udder Comfort $1,000 grand champion cash award.
Reserve grand champion was Ratliff Price Alicia, a 4-year-old, exhibited by Ron and Christy Ratliff of Garnett, Kan.
Ayrshire
Blind Buck Vall Tri Redpepper was named grand champion of the Junior and Open International Ayrshire Shows at World Dairy Expo.
Owned by Roger Greeno of Fort Edward, N.Y., and leased and exhibited by Sara Pulver, the senior 3-year-old completed a record at 2-04 3X 305d 19,242 801F 651P. She is sired by Androssan Ev-Kates Trident.
Reserve Grand Champion was 4-year-old Edgebrook Speckial K Alamode, exhibited by Mike and Brenda Dilly and Andy Tow of Montour, Iowa.
Shorthorn
Keith and Donnette Fisher of New Enterprise, Pa., exhibited the grand champion Milking Shorthorn at World Dairy Expo’s International Milking Shorthorn Show Sept. 30.
Reserve Champion of the show was the second-place aged cow, Calyside Fst Valora 8a22, exhibited by Kayla Frazier of Cushing, Okla.
For the second year running, Hard Core Farms of New Enterprise, Pa., captured the Premier Breeder Banner.
Brown Swiss
It was history in the making when Old Mill E Snickerdoodle OCS, exhibited by Allen Bassler Jr. of Upperville, Va., was tapped grand champion of the Central National Brown Swiss Show for the sixth time — an honor no cow has ever achieved before at World Dairy Expo.
Jo-Dee Prestige Kaluwa, the winning 4-year-old exhibited by Jodi Coppini of Tillamook, Ore., garnered reserve champion honors.
Guernsey
Four Winds Mentor Highlite, owned by Clark and Joy Vilter of Hartland, Wis., was named grand champion at the National Guernsey Show.
Highlite was sired by Mar Ral Royal Mentor and at 03-00 she produced 17,817M with 767F and 557P.
Reserve champion honors went to Mar Kat Jake Elsie, owned by Tyler, Paige and Justin Chupp and Dakota Zaralac of Inola, Okla.
Red and White
The Grand International Red and White Show was led by 5-year-old Ky-Blue Ruben Marla-Red-ET, owned by Richard Green of Middletown, Del.
She is sired by STBVQ Rubens-ET. At 3-11 she produced 32,170M with 1,276F and 1,038P.
Reserve champion honors went to the winning 4-year-old cow, Elmbridge FM Loveable-Red, exhibited by Lookout, Peter Tuytel, Jr. and Canton De Hatley, Quebec.
Holstein
Harvue Roy Frosty, a 5-year-old cow from Rudolph, Wis., was named grand champion of the International Holstein Show. Sired by Roylane Jordan-ET, she was exhibited by Mike and Julie Duckett, Jim and Nancy Junemann and Scott Armbrust.
Recently classified EX-95, Frosty was bred by Dave and Debra Hardesty of Berryville, Va. At 3-10 305d she produced 31,685M 4.5 percent 1,436F 934P.
Reserve champion of the show was the 2008 World Dairy Expo supreme champion, Thrulane James Rose, exhibited by Pierre Boulet of Montmagny, Quebec.
