CLEVELAND — The Ohio-Israel Agricultural Initiative of the Negev Foundation (www.negev.org) will showcase Ohio agricultural businesses and organizations in a special booth at the Agritech 2009 International Tradeshow in Tel-Aviv, Israel from May 5-7.
The Ohio booth, part of the initiative’s ongoing efforts to enhance Ohio-Israel agribusiness relations, will feature 27 Ohio companies, agricultural associations and economic development organizations.
Big exposure
Those participating in the Ohio booth will receive exposure needed to attract buyers from Israel, as well as industrialized and developing countries and emerging markets in the Middle East and beyond.
In addition, Israeli companies that are interested in relocating or co-locating to Ohio or have their products manufactured in Ohio will find resources and contact information in the Ohio booth.
The Ohio booth, sponsored by the Ohio-Israel Agricultural Initiative, is supported by the Ohio Department of Agriculture, the Ohio Department of Development’s Global Markets Division, and its Ohio Eastern Mediterranean Regional Office.
Ohio company and organization representatives attending Agritech will have the opportunity to conduct meetings with potential clients and distributors and make business contacts in their areas of interest through customized business matchmaking.
The initiative will have staff at the booth to represent those Ohio companies and organizations that could not send their own representatives. Ohio booth staff will distribute catalogues, samples, business cards, and other pertinent materials to interested visitors.
Huge show
Agritech is the largest agricultural tradeshow in the Middle East, with over 25,000 expected visitors from around the world. The triennial tradeshow highlights products, processes, and technology from all sectors of agriculture and agribusiness.
This year marks the second time the initiative has participated in the event. In 2006, the initiative organized an Ohio agribusiness trade mission to Israel and Agritech, where Ohio was the only U.S. state to be represented by a delegation in the tradeshow.
