STATE COLLEGE, Pa. — This year’s Penn State Extension Marcellus Summit 2012, scheduled for Oct. 10-12 at the Penn State Conference Center, offers a lineup of speakers and panels covering topics such as shale gas resource estimates, studies on US gas exports and international perspectives on shale gas and oil development.
Special panels will be held throughout the conference as well as environmental, legal and technical break out sections.
More than 400 attendees are anticipated, such as county and municipal officials, industry representatives, legislators, attorneys, state and federal agency staff and environmental and community group members.
Poster session
As part of the conference, an applied research poster session will be held on the 11th from 5:30 to 7 p.m. The deadline for submissions is Sept. 21. Poster abstracts will be reviewed for relevance to the audience and should be broadly related to shale issues relating to community and social implications; business, workforce, and economic impacts; environmental impacts; natural gas utilization; or public education.
