Hocking College will integrate some winemaking skills into its agro-ecology courses this fall, once approved by the state, The Athens Messenger reports.
This spring, one-day classes about winemaking and establishing a vineyard were offered. The college hopes to create classes that will be offered for-credit in the future. Once the vines are mature, Hocking College’s culinary program may offer wine-making, too.
Located in southern Ohio in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, the area surrounding Hocking College is fit for growing grapes.
