NEW PRAGUE, Minn. — Making decisions about replacement heifers will be the subject of the next Dairy Cattle Reproduction Council (DCRC) webinar June 23, at 1 p.m. CST.
John Lee, Elanco associate adviser-dairy technical consultant, will present effective management strategies and benchmarks for heifer-rearing programs.
According to Lee, age at first calving and herd replacement rates are two of the largest factors affecting heifer-rearing expenses.
He will share ideas on how to produce an adequate supply of quality dairy replacement animals in an efficient and timely matter.
