CARROLLTON, Ohio — Farmers are encouraging consumers to “buy fresh, buy local, buy Carroll.” The Buy Fresh, Buy Local, Buy Carroll directory of local food and farm products is currently being revised and will soon be in the hands of Carroll County consumers and tourists.
Started last season by the Carroll County office of Ohio State University Extension, the directory lists local farms and markets where consumers can buy products directly from the farmer. Everything from beef to tomatoes to Christmas trees and firewood will be offered for sale in the guide.
Listing
Producers of food and other farm products can purchase a season-long listing in the local food guide for $20. Sign-up forms are available by contacting the Carroll County Extension office at 330-627-4310. Sign-up forms must be received by June 17 so the directory can be available for consumers in early July.
The Buy Fresh, Buy Local, Buy Carroll directory will be available free of charge and will contain a Carroll County map, showing the location of Carroll County farms and businesses selling products directly to consumers.
