PENINSULA, Ohio — Countryside Conservancy announces the first in a series of free monthly webinars to bolster the businesses of specialty crop growers across Ohio.
Additionally, a MarketReady training developed by The Ohio State University Extension will be offered.

Trumbull County produce farmer Floyd Davis, of Red Basket Farm, will share his experience at 10 a.m. Jan. 24 on selling fresh produce to a local school system. Learn how he overcame initial challenges, the logistics of the arrangement and how he has been able to make this a profitable portion of his business.
The webinar is free, but registration is required.
A Market Ready training will be held Jan. 18 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
The training outlines the preparation needed to tap into various local markets, from farmers’ markets to grocers to restaurants to wholesalers.
The session will be held at Happy Days Lodge in Peninsula, and the fees are $75 for the first individual of a farm or business and $25 for any subsequent individuals from the same business. This workshop is presented in partnership with OSU Extension, ACENet and other MarketMaker partners.
