CARROLLTON, Ohio — The Eastern Ohio Grazing Council will begin its sixth year with a winter meeting Jan. 22 at 6:30 p.m. at the Carrollton Ponderosa Steakhouse located at 1117 Canton Rd NW, Carrollton.
The grazing council’s overall theme for 2015 will be Turning Your Knowledge into Action.
January’s Agenda will focus on winter pasture damage and feeding systems to avoid it. Topics will include stockpiling for winter feeding, set stock bales, using a “Sacrifice Area,” heavy use pads and un-rolling, and a panel discussion on winter watering options, the 4R’s for grazers, and putting your winter plan in place.
Speakers will include Cliff Miller, Windy Ridge Farm of Carrollton; Pete Conkle, Conkle Family Farm of Hanoverton; John McKarns, Kensington; and Caleb Swope, Heritage Lane Farm, of Salem.

Winter grazing workshops are planned for the fourth Thursday of January, February and March, at the Carrollton Ponderosa Steakhouse, located at 1117 Canton Rd NW, Carrollton.
These workshops will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the back conference room. You can eat at your own expense prior to the workshop.
