With the current actions of an NFL player toward our fag, I felt the need to thank you for the picture in the Sept. 1, 2016, edition on page A7 (Portage County bids).
I served 31 years in the United States Air Force and have been a patriot since I was a child. It saddens me when I see people not respecting our flag and National Anthem.
The sight of all those flags hanging in the overhead of the building shows that folks who are near and dear to the land, “our farmers,” still are patriots.
