MEDINA, Ohio — A free, on-farm solar energy program called “Is solar energy right for you?” will be held Sept. 4 at Richardson Farms in Medina.
Participants will learn how solar energy development on the farm could help to lower costs. This program will provide participants with an overview of Ohio’s renewable energy and net metering policy, on-farm solar applications and assessments, a case study from a Medina County farmer with an operating solar system, and a review of the USDA Rural Energy for America Grant Program.
Participants may also receive a free, personalized solar assessment if they bring their electric bill with them to the program.
The program will be held at Richardson Farms, 6984 Lafayette Rd., Medina, OH 44256, and will run from noon-1:30 p.m.
A mobile solar unit will also be on site to demonstrate how solar technology works.
