BURTON, Ohio — The Geauga Dairymen 4-H club, several members, and an adviser were recently recognized at the Geauga County 4-H Member and Volunteer Recognition Ceremony. Members Maddi and Travis Johnson, Lizzie Knopp, Vincent Ferrante, and Garrett Hastings received the Outstanding 4-H member awards for their exceptional effort, personal achievement, attendance and contribution to the club.
Two members received Gold Medal awards. Dominic Ferrante was recognized for leadership and Lizzie Knopp for achievement in the dairy program. Maddi Johnson received the ambassador of 4-H award for her leadership in two clubs, community service and serving as 4-H camp counselor.
Geauga Dairymen earned recognition as honor club , and were also recognized with the new Community Service Award. Third-year adviser Emma Niehus received the Clover Key Award for demonstrating passion for the 4-H program. The next meeting will be held Jan. 31 in Thompson. Election of officers will occur and plans will be made for the coming year.
