MILLERSBURG, Ohio — Fourteen freshmen members of the West Holmes FFA chapter attended Greenhand Camp at Camp Muskingum in Carrollton, Sept. 24-26.

Greenhand Camp is a personal development camp designed to pump up the new members and introduce them to the FFA and the opportunities the program offers.

Members who attended were: Clay Armstrong, Madee Brewer, Tyler Gallupe, Doug Giauque, Emily Holtzmann, Trevor Kick, Grayson Miller, Dustin Niehaus, Mandy Taylor, Nikki Wagner, Kaylee Wigton, Bryce Williamson, Jesse Wines and Matt Wines.

Members attended workshops, which emphasized team-building, goal setting, introducing the FFA and plenty of recreational opportunities.

PLYMOUTH, Ohio — Ohio FFA district four vice president Ellen S. Gilliland visited the Plymouth FFA and ag classes Oct. 6.

Members learned about FFA opportunities, including supervised agricultural experiences, and career development events.

Information about scholarships was also provided to high school seniors.

The Plymouth Soils Team took sixth out of 21 teams at district competition. They missed state by 10 points.

Members competing in the contest were Brandon Kanney, Craig Miller, Kyle Reinhart and Zac Arnold. Kanney led the team, taking 10th place. Miller placed second highest out of the team, coming in 18th out of 100 participants.
