WASHINGTON — Waterford FFA members Blake Campbell, Jessica Coulter and Megan Whalin attended the 2012 Washington Leadership Conference this summer. They attended workshop sessions on persuasive communication, character leadership and building relationships, and participated in discussions on citizenship. They also participated in service learning events.

A highlight of the week was a visit to the office of their local congressman/senator.

SMITHVILLE, Ohio — Two members of the Smithville FFA chapter, Wren Hostetler and Alyssa Kaufman, as well as chapter adviser Mandy Atterholt, went to the Washington Leadership Conference June 19-24.

The FFA members completed a community service project where they filled, sealed, boxed, and sent more than 42,000 meals to families in need.

ASHLAND, Ohio — The Crestview FFA Officer Team spent three days in Mohican, July 11-13, for its annual officer retreat.

The new officers created their POA, or plan of activities, which is the master plan for all FFA events in the upcoming year. They also set personal and chapter goals, completed a SWOT analysis and examined last year’s accomplishments and failures.

All the officers had to create a personal to-do list and fully learn the responsibilities of their new position. The retreat included various recreation activities and chores.
