HARRISVILLE, W.Va. — On Aug. 6, members of the Warren FFA Chapter attended the Ritchie County Fair to watch or participate in the Livestock Show hosted by the OVJBA.

Cortney Welch, Morgan Smith, Dustin Cunningham, Weston McAfee, Ashley Payne, Jessica Wingrove, and Robbie Clifton were present at the show.

Cortney Welch made it to the final drive in the senior showmanship class, and won grand champion Simmental, as well as grand champion female.

Morgan Smith placed first in the Intermediate Showmanship class and won overall market heifer. Jessica Wingrove placed in her Shorthorn class with a market heifer. Weston McAfee placed first in his Simmental class. Ashley Payne placed third in the feeder calf heifer class. The OVJBA is the Ohio Valley Junior Beef Association.

WATERFORD, Ohio — The Waterford FFA chapter participated in a fundraising program in conjunction with WIX filters during the 2010-2011 school year, redeeming WIX filters box tops for 25 cents each. The Waterford FFA Chapter has worked together with Marietta Ignition of Marietta and Professional Auto Parts of Waterford.

The Waterford FFA chapter received an incentive of $1,091.25 for redeeming 4365 box tops during the 2010-2011 school year.

The Waterford FFA Chapter will once again be collecting WIX Filter tops for the 2011-2012 school year. Anyone interested can bring filters to Waterford High School, Marietta Ignition in Marietta, Professional Auto Parts in Waterford or give them to a Waterford FFA member.

WIX Filters is helping FFA chapters across the country raise funds through a box top promotion, paying 25 cents for every WIX filters box top redeemed between now and April 15. Since the program began in 1986, WIX Filters has contributed more than $475,000 to FFA chapters. ]
