ASHLAND, Ohio — Crestview FFA had four members participate in public speaking contests. Kathy Lehman competed in extemporaneous speaking; Brynn Witmer, beginning prepared speaking; Jenna Purvis, advanced prepared speaking; and Ervin Fussner, FFA creed speaking. Fussner placed first in the district contest and third in his heat at the state contest, March 5.

MILLERSBURG, Ohio — On March 5, the West Holmes FFA chapter visited Marysville High School and participated in the state ag sales competition. The team of Marris Hoffee, Jillian Gurley, Becca Vales and Chris VanSickle placed 15th. Individually, Hoffee placed 17th.
On Feb. 29, the chapter held its officer elections. The 2016-2017 officer team is president, Chris VanSickle; vice president, Becca Vales; secretary, Alyx Morris; treasurer, Regina Miller; reporter, Abby Rohr; sentinel, John Hughes; historian, Erik Hanna; and student adviser, Taylor Feikert.
The chapter also held FFA king and queen elections. Those elected will be representing the chapter in the Holmes County Fair king and queen contest. The chapter voted Becca Vales as the queen and Jason Jenkins as the king.

WEST SALEM, Ohio — The Northwestern FFA Chapter handed out more than 50 degrees to first- and second-year FFA members during its Greenhand and Chapter Degree Ceremony, March 1. Mike Guidetti, a Northwestern FFA alumni, was the guest speaker for the evening and shared the development of FFA throughout the years and why the program remains important today.
