WELLINGTON, Ohio — The theme for the 2010 Lorain County fair was Blue Jeans and Country Dreams.
Youth winning in their classes include: dairy goat junior doe, Jason Young, Goats Galore 4-H club; dairy goat mature doe, Jason Young, Goats Galore 4-H club; level 1 pack goat beginner, Keely Jorda, Goats Galore 4-H club; Boer goat mature doe champion, Kayla Mackey, Goats Galore 4-H club; Boer goat aged doe, Kayla Mackey, Goats Galore 4-H club; overall Boer goat doe reserve champion, Kayla Mackey, Goats Galore 4-H club; dairy goat showmanship, beginner, call back (13 and under), Liberty Jordan, Goats Galore 4-H club; dairy goat showmanship senior, Luke Hyer, Another 4-H club; dairy goat showmanship senior reserve champion, Tim Frombaugh, Brighton Buckeyes; overall dairy goat showmanship champion, Luke Hyer, Another 4-H club; Boer goat showmanship beginner champion, Caleb Kiser, Penfield Co-Op Farmers; Boer goat showmanship beginner reserve champion, Keely Jordan, Goats Galore 4-H club; Boer goat showmanship intermediate champion, Kayla Mackey, Goats Galore 4-H club; Boer goat showmanship senior champion, Jason Young, Goats Galore 4-H club; overall Boer goat showmanship champion, Jason Young, Goats Galore 4-H club; overall Boer goat showmanship reserve champion, Kayla Mackey, Goats Galore 4-H club.
The winners from the classes were given plaques, trophies or ribbons.
BURTON, Ohio — Geauga Beef and Swine 4-H club met Aug.t 15 for their seventh meeting of the year.
The club members each deigned their name tags that will be placed on their cages. Advisor Wendy Anderson mentioned that each child taking a poultry project need to bring a cooler with their name, tag numbers, and club name on it. Members also reminded that poultry pick up will be held Sept.7
The club will meet again for their end of the year picnic at 3:30 p.m. Sept. 19th at the Rockery and discuss the plans for next year.
