BERKELEY, CA – A new documentary film from an Emmy award-winning filmmaker is now securing funding for post-production via the Indiegogo crowd-funding platform.
The film, Gleason Ranch: Risking Everything, tells the story of Nancy and Cindy Prebilich, two sisters struggling to salvage their relationship and their 5th-generation family ranch in Bodega, California, after the sudden deaths of their parents.
Telling a real story
Gleason Ranch: Risking Everything is a representation of what is happening all across the country as farmland is being taken away from farmers. This film asks what it means to give up everything for your history, your land, and your identity.
“The future of family farmland is at stake,” says director Morgan Schmidt-Feng. “This film shows the human side of a much larger process, asking us to think about what it means for our environment, as well as our humanity.”
The money raised on Indiegogo will go toward editing, color correction, final interviews, sound design, titles, legal costs, and festival submission fees.
The fundraising campaign to tell this story will end Nov. 24.
